David spotted at least 3 babies at the mall drinking his bottles today and he didn't like it one bit!

Sexy Woman

'Sexy Woman' is a game that Alex and his friends play. It's basically tag, with 'it' being the sexy woman who tries to kiss the other participants. And they scream, squeal and run. Like scared little boys. Because all boys, big and little, are truly scared of the sexy woman!

Another Tooth Bites the Dust

Which would you rather hear from the bathroom?

"When did I have asparagus?"

"When did I have corn?"

First Haircut

Alex 6 years 51.25" 58.5 lbs
David 1 year 30" 21 lbs
Alex at 1 year 31.75" 23 lbs 11 oz

Dad at 13 mos 32" 25 lbs 10.5 oz

David has a heart murmur that has not been heard before, he needs an echocardiogram but I'm not going to freak out until I have something to actually freak out about.

I've lost 6.5 pounds despite eating an entire medium pizza for lunch yesterday. It was a bad day at work. Allan has lost more despite eating much larger portions of the same healthy food. Men!

Larry at Home Depot was writing up our sink order. David threw his socks at him. We apologized.
Larry: "That's okay, we had five kids. He could throw a hand grenade at me and I wouldn't even notice."

The Trick

Look what Allan found outside our bedroom door this morning.

From My Inbox

"When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill 20 miles BOTH ways ..yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

There was no email! ! We had to actually write somebody a letter ...with a pen! Then you had to …

My boys are back! I had a nice relaxing weekend but I was ready for them to come home.

Take the Shakespeare quiz and see if you and see if you can beat me. I got 13 out of 38!

A Day to Myself

After seeing Allan and the boys off this morning I stopped by Dunkin Donuts for a delicious iced coffee (splenda and skim milk), went through a car wash and then vacuumed and cleaned my car, swung through Wendy's for a mandarin chicken salad to put in the fridge for lunch, picked up Nugget and changed into my running gear, ran a mile and a half with him then came back and vegged out on the sofa in front of Days of Our Lives and ate my salad. Next up: a shower and then 2 hours of deep housecleaning followed by a nice dinner and a movie with my girlfriends.

Oh, and I'll be wearing my mama crocs while I clean the house! I can't post an actual picture since I promised Allan I'd never wear them in public. Love ya, babe!

Walking Shoes

Alex's first walking shoe is on the right and the one on the left is David's size and it is just waiting for him to walk! Maybe Payless shoes aren't good enough and he's holding out for Stride Rites?

I've invited two 6 year old boys to spend the night with Alex tomorrow night. They both live in our neighborhood so it won't be a long trip home if one of them wakes up crying!

Consignment Finds

I love consignment stores!
Fisher Price activity table $8
nice Red Sox jersey for Alex $8
Bauer rollerblades for Alex $3
long sleeved Tshirt and knit pants outfit for David $4

I'm going jogging this morning. With David in the jogging stroller. And Alex on his bike. And because he needs exercise too, with Nugget on his leash. All because I couldn't get my fat ass out of bed and off before Allan had to leave for work.

For the Tooth Fairy

Alex came home from daycamp today with an envelope marked "for the tooth fairy." Luckily the teacher that penned the note will probably not ever find out that our version of the tooth fairy is me handing one dollar bills out ($1 per tooth) direct from my wallet into Alex's greedy little hands.

Twice Shy

Poor David got bitten by another kid at playgroup today, two hours later his little hand is still red and I can identify toothprints.

Kitchen Update

We picked our lighting for the kitchen today. Between our kitchen designer and the lighting designer at the store who designs for This Old House we picked our dining room chandelier, breakfast nook chandelier (left), island pendants, recessed cans, undercabinet lights, interior cabinet lights for the pantry piece and the exterior deck lighting in two hours. I wish all the decisions were this easy!

Ear Infection

We were right. I should have known he'd get one after he weaned, I can no longer protect him!

I daresay I slept worse last night than I did the night of 8/7/06. David was up and miserably crying from 12:30 until 3:30. This time, though, it was Allan he wanted. Allan logged miles walking him up and down the hallway and then even took him for a drive. I think he has an ear infection.

Goblet of Fire-Done!

One Year Ago

I got home from a 12 hour shift and as soon as I walked in the door my water broke. This is our last photo as a family of three.

Today we are going countertop shopping. This is the one area where we've disagreed. I want quartz, no maintenance, engineered, uniform. He's pushing for granite, shiny, cliche, has to be sealed, unpredictable. I'm hoping he caves. I'm the one that cooks afterall!

Yesterday I weighed as much as I did when I was 38 weeks pregnant with Alex. And 35 weeks pregnant with David. And since I'm not 32 weeks pregnant with #3, I joined weight watchers. Again.

Today I ran 1/4 mile.

Tomorrow, Everest!
