Thomas has bronchiolitis and an ear infection. No wonder the poor boy was a beast yesterday afternoon. Picture me restraining him with one arm and holding a nebulizer mask up to his nose and mouth with the other arm while David and Alex where sitting on the bench in the doctor's office fighting over my phone. And as a special bonus we got a nebulizer machine to take home and he has to have treatments three times a day for ten days. Poor little guy. Would this be a valid reason to let him have his pacifier back?

4:15 Vet Appointment

Now can someone please explain that to my canine companion so he'll quit dragging his ass across the floor in an effort to show me how troubled he is?

I think his anal glands need expression and there are youtube videos on how to do it but I can't seem to convince anyone around here they should give it a try. Myself included and I'm already cringing at the vet bill.

Thomas I've done a great job with the pacifier restrictions. Crib and car only. One day last week he was so cranky that I put him in his crib for a fix and he happily laid there and sucked for twenty minutes. David was not tired last night thanks to an afternoon nap. He was still awake and playing cars in the dark when I went to bed at 10:00 but by the time Allan came up he had fallen asleep. And Alex is pictured with his Cub Scout den at the pinewood derby. He won a participant trophy which was a disappointment after he did so well his last two years. I'm so proud of him for his hard work. Learning to lose graciously is a tough thing to do.

At our house we can make chocolate or strawberry milk. If you don't want flavored milk you can just have David's favorite: 'leggar milk.'

Sunday Morning

We've been taking turns hauling the boys to Sunday school at 9:00 on Sunday mornings.   The person with the week off gets to enjoy a full hour and a half of quiet house to sip coffee and revel in the peace before joining the family for church. Allan's turn.  Enjoy it, honey because next week I'm up!

Watching Clifford: Exhibit B

Watching Clifford: Exhibit A

Lego Valentines

This year I've got a guy I can call if I didn't get the pieces right.

Single Stream Recycling

One of the coolest things about our new town is that it has single stream recycling.  We put paper, glass, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, and tin in this big tote and drag it to the curb and they pick it up with the trash.  Compared to the sorting and hauling we had to do in Groton this is a dream!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

I made these treats for the cub scouts' pinewood derby.  I glued peanut butter cup wheels onto Little Debbie cake sticks using a low melt glue gun.

Way to Go, MA

Too bad I'm no longer a resident.

New Library

I love having a new library to 'work.'  It's over 100 years old and it has great hours.  Tax dollars at work.

Parental Controls

I need to figure out the parental controls for our new cable. Alex was searching for Lego TV and found Lesbian Love Fest. No, we don't get that channel but it still shows up in the search.

Alex's team won their second game in a row. The score was 10 to 6. I guess it will take some growing to get the scores to look less like hockey scores, they are all relativley short compared to the regulation baskets.

You're at Eight Eight Nine

David is trying to measure how tall I am with a candy thermometer.

Thomas and I had Music Together on Tuesday and a play date today.   I think he enjoys getting away from his brothers and getting out of the house with me.  And he did it all without a pacifier hanging out of his mouth!

Stud Muffin

I made Rose Levy Beranbaum's 'stud muffin' today. It's a rich brioche studded with chunks of gruyere cheese. It was very good and a hit with my boys. I seem to have been bitten by the bread bug again.

About Time

I decided it was safe to delete the IVF center's contact into from my electronic address book. I wonder if they could recommend a urologist for a vasectomy...

Bye, Bye, Binky!

Today Thomas has decided to give up the pacifier except in the crib and car seat. Okay, I've decided. Pray for me.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my microfiber leisure suit. I can't think of a better reason to wear it all day after church. I could wear it to church but I care too much what other people think.

Recipe Recommendations

I found two great recipes this week. The first is Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake. I daresay I like it better than Aunt Elda's. And the second is this copycat of PF Chang's mongolian beef. I daresay I still prefer to be taken to PF Chang's but if it's my money I'll make this at home. Yum!

Linda was right, we are settled after a week. We are just living with a few brown cubic cardboard pieces of furniture! Everything is done except our closet, the office, garage and basement. But we can both park in the garage and close the door on the closet and basement. If Allan can bear to part with some of the highlighters he had in college and a dozen floppy disks the office will be done this weekend.

There's a sponge going in my fridge. Stop by at suppertime, it's about to smell like home in this house!

Need Internet!

Mobile blogging is no fun. I can neither edit nor finish that last post and quite frankly I need to get going. Hopefully we'll be up and running soon.

My Facebook feed is filled with people saying 'back to life...back to reality' and 'back to the grind.'. We're starting to figure out what our reality is going to be like. So far I like it!

Thomas is now saying, "Uh Oh," clapping and making a beeline for the stairs every chance he gets.

David is missing Grandpa and is trying to con Allan and I into his reading chair every chance he gets. He has been falling asleep fine in his own room and slept through the night in his own bed for the first time last night.

Alex has been out sledding with neighbor kids three times already. He is so excited to have his own room. After a 2 hour delay he will start his new school today.

I've been working like a dog to get this place in order but I snuck in one nap and two bubble baths and I can't say which I enjoyed more.

Allan has also been working like a dog and the low point of the weekend was a four hour shopping trip to Home Depot and Target with the 1 …

Happy New Year

We're here, we're semi-settled already thanks to Allan's parents and tomorrow we are gettng Nugget back. We all need some dog therapy.
